FORAGED APPLES IN OUR AREA

All of our cider is made from apples grown and foraged in the Fox Valley area. The flavors of the fruit reflect the climate, soil, and other intangible qualities that translate into flavor. Many of the trees we pick are growing wild or neglected with no intervention from humans. The fruit is intense and much better for making quality cider than commercial apples.

WHERE DO OUR APPLES COME FROM?

Our apples are foraged locally from untended trees in the community. I have offered my kids bribes to spot trees on public land, and they have made commissions for introducing me to harvestable trees. I keep a map of all the trees that we have been granted access to pick and keep tabs on how the fruit is ripening during the season so it can be harvested at the right time. We get fruit from: Aurora, Naperville, Batavia, Warrenville, St. Charles, Maple Park, Sugar Grove, South Elgin, and Marengo.
